Next ILLUST Award 2024 Winner Announcement

From this year, the NEXT ILLUST Award, the illustration contest run by COMICUP, China’s largest doushinji event held last year, SS (Small S) and S magazine, has expanded to include submissions of works from Japan, China and English-speaking countries, making it a contest that people across the world can participate in! The Gold Award went to esoratetora who participated in the contest. Their work is a deeply emotional piece drawn entirely in colored pencil. The lens expression is superb and the illustration, from the blurred foreground to the aerial perspective in the background, is truly impressive. The Silver Award goes to 徐从晖 for a submission to China’s COMICUP, an exquisitely decorated portrait of beautiful women, which was highly rated by the other artists. Sharing the Silver Award is _grumpypotato for an entry submitted through Discord. The artist wanted the blue tones to represent the whimsical emotions and nighttime adventures with friends. It is delightful to see how it depicts a fairytale world in a humorous way. Many thanks to everyone for participating.
